We created this page to address our most commonly asked questions and topics of conversation with our customers.
What areas do you cover?
We will travel anywhere we are asked. Our most popular areas are Stamford - Peterborough - Oakham - Uppingham - Oundle. What sort of jobs do you do?
We will do any clearance work asked of us. From clearing a house to clearing a park. If you have a specific job in mind contact us for a quote.
Who do you work for?
We will work with anyone from house owners, estate agents, construction sites to local councils and companies.
Why do you give a copy of your waste carrier licence?
Over the recent years legislation has changed the way rubbish is disposed of. This has led to an increase in the cost of disposal at landfill so waste transfer recycling centres were set up. This is great for the environment but comes at a cost as the price of disposal has increased. There has been a sharp increase in people fly tipping and burning rubbish to avoid this cost, They pass this saving onto the customer and undercut ethical companies like us. To address this situation councils have increased the prosecutions of the owners of the waste rather than trying to find the actual fly tippers. This has led to criminal convictions and fines of up to £5000. By giving you a copy of our licence it guarantees you will have no chance of prosecution and more importantly know that your waste will be recycled ethically and you will be helping the environment.
Will you clear out any space such as attics?
We often have to clear out full properties including the attic. It can sometimes be a unpleasant job but we are fully trained and wear the correct PPE. If it makes the customer happy we will do it. If a property is has been left in a unpleasant state we have the equipment to clear it out efficiently.
Do you carry out probate work?
A certain proportion of our work is related to clearing properties after someone has passed on. In these circumstances we provide a discreet sensitive service. We wont just go into a house and start throwing things out. We always ask the client if they need any other the personal items or furniture delivering to family or friends, storage or auction. We do this first. When the client is happy everything is out of the house we then move onto to carefully loading up any items that can be given to charity, this is always with the clients permission. After that we then carefully clear out the unwanted items.
What other services to you provide alongside clearing?
The delivery service mentioned above. If the property is to be sold we can do a full clear including fittings and carpets. We also do this full clear out for council properties in accordance with their rules regarding how to leave a property.
Why has the cost of rubbish disposal increased?
The government green taxes are in place to encourage people to increase the amount of recycling they do and to cut waste. This is more labour and time intensive which naturally increase the cost. We pay over 50% of our fee just for the disposal cost. Our costs have not increased just the disposal cost has. We are always working to try and reduce this cost and will work alongside customers on ways to lower the amount. One example is we are happy to send one worker out with the van if the customer is willing to help load up. This will help to keep the cost down.
How do we know where this rubbish will end up?
The only place we can take the rubbish is to the waste transfer station and charity. Although we give a copy of our licence we have in the past sent customers photos of their waste in process and if taken to charity a photo of that process.
At what point does the two hours labour start?
Unlike other comanies who usually have a 30 minute load time we understand that sometimes these jobs can be rushed or done in time. 2 hours usually gives plenty of time for one load and allows the customer to make sure they have the service they want. The two hours start when we arrive unless we have more than 25 minutes travel.
Will you do everything?
Absolutely. Many of our customers need help due to disability and age so we will do everything they ask to make it as easy as possible for them. This doesn't just include the clearing job, example we recently helped a elderly gentleman sort through all of his belongings after the passing of his partner, helping him box and bag items. We achieved so much for him and made a difficult situation a little easier.
Is their any extra costs?
The price we agree is what you will pay. The extra costs will come from any hours over the 2 hours included or if we provide and boxes or bags or cleaning items.
